Not What I Thought

Made my first pot of Rooibos Masala Chai tea. It is a quality tea rich in flavor. However, pepper is the dominant taste. When you sip it you feel a burn in the back of your throat. I don't mind heat but I want other flavors with it. No taste of cardamom, ginger, cloves, or cinnamon. I used 1 tsp per 8oz, heated to 210f, steeped 6 min. That could be too long for this tea. I will go shorter next time. I bought a Roobios Dolsa Chai from Teavan which was what I expected. Milder and sweeter. I may try blending this.
