Ceylon Nuwara Eliya Black Tea (OP)

The Lover’s Leap Ceylon black tea is a top grade Nuwara Eliya estate tea grown at the altitude of 8000 feet above sea level on steep hills. This tea is a true Orange Pekoe grade. Orange Pekoe stands for whole leaf. When you pour boiling water on this tea you will see how the leaf uncurls and expands quite dramatically, a process called the agony of the leaf. When brewed this tea produces a bright coppery color liquid with a medium body piquant and refreshing taste.

Lover’s Leap, a western tea estate, is one of the best tea gardens in Sri Lanka. During its peak season in March, this estate’s production is characterized by a delightful flavor that is astringent and lively. This estate has the best weather for producing quality tea is highlighted by cool nights, dry weather and bright sunny days. These conditions force the tea bush to expend all its energies into the new growth leaves giving the tea its best flavor. Lover’s Leap received it name from the well known cliff where lovers would throw themselves over if they were not allowed to marry one another. Free shipping with purchase over $60.

Good Tea

I enjoy this tea, it is not my favorite black tea but it has good flavor. I have been experimenting with black Teas'. So far the Nilgiri and English Breakfast are the best for me.

Outstanding Ceylon Tea
March 23, 2014
I drink my tea with a little lemon. My goal was to find a tea with great taste and aroma. This Ceylon Nuwara Eliya Orange Pekoe tea is the best tea I have ever had. The Nuwara Eliya area of Sri Lanka has a reputation for great teas because of it's elevation. This tea has a light golden brown/orange color. It is much lighter in color that the lower elevation traditional Ceylon teas. The aroma is excellent. It's really evident when you pour it into a cup after steeping. The tea works well with both small and larger amounts of lemon. My wife, who prefers milk, likes the tea with just a light amount of milk. The flavor is just great. I tried the team without lemon, and it tasted great. This tea was just as advertised and it is a true orange pekoe. The leaves are quite large. If you love aromatic, great tasting tea, I strongly recommend this tea.

Excellent Ceylon
July 20, 2013
Opened the bag and smelled the Ceylon and it had a nice aroma. Out of the pot I noticed the color as I poured was amber in the sunlight. Again the smell was excellent. The taste for a black tea was mild yet black tea good.

My Morning Tea
April 15, 2013
This is my morning tea which I very much enjoy. It tastes wonderful alone or with milk and sugar. It has a beautiful copper color with no harsh acidic aftertaste or bitterness. Ceylon teas are my favorite and I prefer this Nuwara Eliya Ceylon most of all. I always have some in my kitchen. I also sometimes make my own blend with this tea and the Assam Black TGFOP from Enjoying Tea. They are great together and make a good afternoon tea with milk and sugar.

Great Morning tea
February 17, 2013
I don't drink coffee, only tea. This tea is a great morning tea--smooth without being weak and without any bitter aftertaste. Add a little sweetner and it's comfort in a cup.

A great all round tea
November 10, 2012
A long time ago, I went to Sri Lanka and instantly fell for the magnifent range of teas available at my hotel in Mumbai. Nurara Eliya became one of may favoutites and being a BVrit, milk and sugar were obligatory. This tea can be served on it's own or with milk and tastes just as good either way. A really good all round tea at an affordable price..

Perfect, classic black tea
April 21, 2011
Thirst quenching when made as iced tea, and wonderful when hot. This has that classic black tea taste with the slightest hint of natural sweetness.
I love it. It's a staple to keep on hand, as crucial to my pantry as salt and pepper.
